The Fantasy Poker League® runs and operates free No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournaments 7 days a week in Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander and San Marcos. As Austin’s #1 Bar Poker League with over 1000 registered players, TFPL awards a $1,000 World Series of Poker®1 Las Vegas trip three times a year.
TFPL’s roots date all the way back to the Moneymaker effect – the name of the sudden growth of interest in poker after amateur poker player Chris Moneymaker won the 2003 WSOP® Main Event. The company itself has been around for over a decade, but our mission has never changed:
“The Fantasy Poker League is a community of unique individuals who share a common passion to learn and play competitive poker. TFPL strives to create a comfortable, social and fun atmosphere for all players and clients.”
TFPL is absolutely free to play and cash prizes are given out each session – 7 days a week.
To become a member, simply visit any of our locations on a night we play. Signing up to play is your initial league registration. When points are uploaded from that tournament, your name will appear on our League Leaderboard.
As a player, you will accumulate points throughout each 15 week season to be used towards our Main Event, Poker Palooza. Your points = Chips at Palooza, so naturally the more you play, the larger starting stack at our Main Event. 1st place prize at Poker Palooza is a $1,000 seat at the World Series of Poker® in Las Vegas, including airfare and 4-night hotel stay. We give away this prize at least 3 times a year and every player that reaches the Main Event final table will receive a prize.
TFPL is always free to play and is a great way to gain some live experience and make some new like minded friends.
Tournaments average 30-50 players and usually last around 3 hours. Players begin with 13,000 in chips and can receive bonus chips for wearing TFPL merchandise or ordering food from our venues.
TFPL also hosts Freeroll Main Event games. These are one-session games structured for a deeper stack and length. Players will start with 18,000 in chips with bonus chips for food purchases. Blind structures vary depending on the location and time-requirements, however most of these tournaments usually last 4-5 hours and award much larger prizes than regular nightly games.
The following tables outline our regular nightly tournament blind structure and point awards. Some locations may operate on alternate versions depending on attendance and time allotted.
